Restoring dignity to survivors of domestic and sexual abuse
The Mission of Carry Her Load is to provide moving services to survivors fleeing abusive homes and then again when it is time to begin the next, safer chapter of life as they transition out of a shelter.
Men and women who have all had a hand in protecting our country and communities also volunteer with Carry Her Load to move and protect treasured belongings in an effort to restore dignity to survivors who have made the difficult decision to move out of unsafe homes.
Helping her shine, so she can rise
Carry Her Load also recognizes that in many situations, a female survivor fleeing an unsafe home has very little time to escape with much more than the clothes on her back. As part of its Mission to restore dignity to survivors, Carry Her Load created The Daughter Project to ensure that survivors not go without cosmetics, skin and hair care products, and intimates that women have come to rely on for self-confidence. The Daughter Project wants to arm every survivor with the confidence that they need to focus on building a life free from abuse.
